Why I Do This Work
— A Personal Note from Sharon Lee
Founder of Free My Assets | Certified Divorce and Recovery Coach
I didn’t see my divorce coming.
Like many people, I suddenly found myself trying to make important decisions while the life I thought I understood was changing around me. There were legal questions, financial concerns, emotional realities, and practical decisions—and no single place where all of those pieces came together.
I had good professional help. But I also discovered how much of divorce happens in the spaces between the professionals.
You are still the person who has to live with the decisions. You have to understand what matters, ask the questions, sort through competing priorities, and eventually decide what comes next.
That experience ultimately led me to create Free My Assets®.
Today, my work is informed both by professional training and by having lived through the disorientation of divorce myself. I work with people at different stages and in very different circumstances—from those trying to understand what is happening, to those navigating divorce, to those rebuilding afterward.
And I choose my words carefully because divorce is personal. Your circumstances are not someone else’s circumstances. What was right for one person may be entirely wrong for another.
My job isn’t to tell you what your life should look like.
It’s to help you slow down the noise, understand where you are, identify what matters, and make thoughtful decisions about where you want to go next.
That’s the work behind Free My Assets®.
